Why IAmTranshuman (ist)?

“I am a transhumanist because I am a mother. I was born with biological abnormalities that made conception, gestation, and delivery of my children life-threatening. If it weren’t for technological innovation, I’d be dead. Natural selection tried to kill me, but that was not my fate. Instead, I’m alive with three healthy, thriving children. As a mother and transhumanist, it’s my job to keep my children safe, healthy, and alive. I have been charged, even legally, to protect them from death through conception, gestation, infancy, childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. Yet somewhere in the aging process, we give up on the idea that protecting our children from death is a noble, legal, or moral obligation.”

“We are barely scratching the surface of human potential through technological transformation. Evolution didn’t start with humanity, and I doubt it will end with humanity. If each rising generation becomes a little more intelligent, innovative, loving, and creative, we may find we are birthing and rearing little gods who are no longer held captive by death. Who knows? Maybe someday our godly offspring will come back for their parents and thank them for protecting them from death. Parents and children have a strange way of keeping each other alive.”
