Why are you transhuman (ist)?
“I see no limit to humankind’s capacity to change itself for the better and the capacity to express ourselves across the firmament. To end disease. To end aging, itself a genetic disease. To reach across the stars in not millennia, but decades. We are remarkable, all of us, and there should be no limits whatsoever to making that actionable.”
Stephen Valadez is a writer, editor, and investor. As an investor, he primarily works with undervalued growth equities, in particular, both undervalued blue-chip stocks going through restructuring processes, and growth stocks in burgeoning industries and ones in emerging world markets, chiefly Asia. He is also a cryptocurrency investor and sits on the current board of Bomb Token, the world’s first self-reducing currency and financial asset that functions as a store of value while also solving the problem of currency and token velocity for the first time in history.
As a writer and editor, he has been a content editor both freelance and staff across the industry, with a focus on magazines and academic periodicals. His latest piece, “Charity in a Transhumanist World, and Our World Becoming So,” can be found in the recently published “The Transhumanism Handbook,” (Springer, 2019.)
He sits on the board as a founding member of The Joseph Grubbs Memorial Fund, a non-profit charity in Chattanooga, TN, under the portfolio of non-profits of the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga.
He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
